  • Students Meet the Study Island Challenge at JCMS! Students Meet the Study Island Challenge at JCMS! Students at Jackson County Middle School were issued an official Study Island Challenge to earn a minimum of 20 blue ribbons. The requirements for completion were that each student must earn at least two ribbons in each study area including common core, the test must be approved by the teacher for that subject, and the student must have earned the ribbon during the specified challenge time. Congratulations to those who completed the challenge!
  • Representative John Mark Windle Visits GES! Representative John Mark Windle Visits GES! Representative Windle was invited to come down and read to students at Gainesboro Elementary School recently in a program designed to bring people from various walks of life into the library and have them read their favorite book and tell about how reading has made them the success that they are today. Rep. Windle coming down is just the icing on the cake! More special people will visit us throughout the year! Stay tuned!
  • JCHS Hosts ACT night for students and parents. JCHS Hosts ACT night for students and parents. Recently, JCHS has hosted their annual ACT night. This event is geared to show students and parents the financial benefit of doing well on the ACT as well as provide information on how to get scholorships. Various representatives from colleges and universities came and answered questions pertaining to college readiness. Desserts were provided to all who came out for this event.
  • DBS raises TCAP through the ROOF! DBS raises TCAP through the ROOF! A school reward was offered to students last year at Dodson Branch Elementary. If the school met all of the State’s required AMO’s – Principal Woolbright & Asst Principal Kinnaird would sleep on the roof. DBS students met their AMO’s. DBS is very proud of their achievement and progress and will continue to work toward reward school status in 2013-2014.   • STEM Grant Brings More Technology To JCMS STEM Grant Brings More Technology To JCMS Jeri Wilborn and Zac Cole recently attended a grant program called the Upper Cumberland Regional STEM Initiative (UCRSI), which was hosted at TTU's STEM Center. In addition to the valuable information, Ms. Wilborn received 3 iPad Minis and Mr. Cole received a weather station, weather radio and laptop for use in their classrooms. Ms. Wilborn stated, “I intend to use the iPads to help our students build their math skills in the classroom.“

It is with great regret that we report the passing of one of our friends and loved ones here at Jackson County Schools. Betty Pruett, Federal Programs Director, passed away on October 25, 2014. Services will be held at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral home on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 11 A.M. For more information concerning services, please visit the following link here.

7/18/2014 - GES News!

Gainesboro Elementary School will be holding its new student registration on Thursday, July 24, 2014 from8:00AM-3:00PM. If your child has not been registered at GES, we welcome you to come on down and get this process started!

Another event that Gainesboro Elementary School is having is a Back-to-School Night (Meet your Teacher and pick up information forms). This event will begin on Monday, July 28, 2014 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. We encourage you to come out for this event for yourself and your child to get to know your teacher and set the pattern for a successful year!
